14 Pier Walk, Greenwich Peninsula, London

14 Pier Walk, Greenwich Peninsula, London

Architect: Farrells
Type of works: design, manufacture and installation of ETFE skylight.

The 14 Pier Walk building at Greenwich Peninsula consists of two blocks of office space connected by a bright central skylight. Novum was contracted to design, manufacture and install the ETFE skylight. The curved geometry of the roof meant that each ETFE pillow, steel member and profile detail was designed individually and that no two parts are the same. To ensure that the necessary roof geometry was achieved, Novum was involved with the architect, contractor and client early in the design process. Novum provided custom flashings and gutters to accommodate the roof curvature.

AFP aluminum profiles with an anodized finish hold three layer ETFE pillows in place. The outer layer of ETFE has a screen print for solar control. The middle and interior ETFE layers are clear.
