CEMEX supplied a high quality mortar solution for the construction of a brand new community in Aylesbury.

The new community of Berryfields offers a privileged lifestyle within a new community of beautiful 2, 3, 4 and 5 bed-roomed properties from Abbey New Homes.

The selection of high quality products was a top priority for the construction of this residential development, comprising of 82 units, phased over a two year construction period.

Following the delivery of numerous successful projects together, thus having the confidence in CEMEX’s ability to meet the technical specification and service demands for this project, Freeman and Hook appointed CEMEX to provide their mortar solution.

Consistency of colour and overall quality made it essential that a factory produced mortar was used for the external facing brickwork on this prestigious project. Dry Silo Mortar (DSM) was provided as the primary mortar solution, with a factory produced M4 Buff Natural Class 3 Ready to Use Mortar (RTU) provided for the final phase of the project.

This combined Dry Silo Mortar and Ready to Use Mortar solution enabled CEMEX to remove the mortar silos prior to the last phase of the project commencing. Using a factory-produced Ready to Use Mortar (RTU) for the final phase of the project enabled the site compound space to be built upon to complete the project.

Dovetailing a Dry Silo Mortar project with a Ready to Use Mortar option provides customers with a number of benefits. In addition to having the flexibility to adapt to the changing demands of a project, customers receive a seamless supply of mortar, without the need to establish contact with a new supplier at this critical stage in projects, thus having assurance of both the quality of product and service levels received.
