Architect: David Rymer, Straight Impact
Type of works: supply of fittings and furniture for the bathrooms.

Absolut IceBar, London, located in the heart of Mayfair, is the first permanent bar made of ice in the UK.

The temperature is kept at -5° all year round, and everything inside is made out of crystal clear ice, transported especially from the Torne River in Jukkasjarvi, Sweden.

Absolut Ice, London is permanent and open all year. Every six months the bar is completely re-designed with a brand new design.

VitrA was chosen to supply the fittings and furniture for the bathrooms.

Architect, David Rymer of Straight Impact, said: “The only permanent ice bar in the UK, where everything, from the walls, the bar, and the bar stools, to the glass that holds your drink, is made from ice. A unique bar, a unique experience and a unique challenge for Straight Impact, the design company which managed the project. Along with its sister-bar, belowzero, this is a true designer destination, with a clientele whose expectations of good design and a stylish environment could not be higher. So when it came to choosing a company to supply fittings and furniture for the bathrooms, VitrA was a natural choice.”
