Boon Edam have designed an entrance solution to fit within the all glass façades, and open plan entrance area, whilst also considering energy consumption levels at K2 St Katherines Dock, London. Adjacent to the Tower of London and Tower Bridge, and a prominent gateway to St Katherines Dock, Tower Bridge House was designed as an energy efficient, speculative office building by Richard Rogers Partnership.
Dealing with 2 Architects and 3 Contractors in this multi-tenanted financial centre, Boon Edam Ltd set the specifications for both Crystal Tourniket revolving doors and Pedestrian Security Lanes.
The high performance glass façades, horizontal aluminum louvers, and our Crystal Tourniket revolving doors, significantly reduce the buildings energy consumption, allowing daylight into the building and regulating solar gain.
With an entirely transparent façade, our Crystal Tourniket revolving doors fit seamlessly into the design of the building. As the original all-glass revolving door, the Crystal Tourniket is aesthetically pleasing, energy efficient and complimentary to the entrance screen of the building façade, reflecting one of the major sites of London, the Tower of London.
Through the all-glass façade, we worked alongside the interior architects MCM, Arup Security consulting & Custom security, to secure the large full height reception area, with a bank of pedestrian Speedlanes and Winglocks.
The use of the Speedlane 900 guarantees fast, smooth, efficient and secure access control for the staff and visitors accessing the 24,000m2 of office space, whilst complimenting the surrounding interior.
Using high quality materials on the Speedlane cabinets, finished in brushed stainless steel and the top cover finished in the same honed slate as the floor tiles, the speedlanes fit perfectly into their surroundings.
