Alutec supplies rainwater systems for Future Proof Home

Aluminium rainwater system manufacturer Alutec, has supplied its highly sustainable guttering and fascia and soffit products for the innovative ‘Future Proof Home’ being displayed at this year’s Ideal Home Show.

The ‘Future Proof Home’ is a progressive example of energy saving technology and thermally efficient building methods. Built by Trivselhus-by-Esh, the ‘Future Proof Home’ incorporates market leading products and technologies that mean it has the potential to cut energy bills to zero.

Built in a factory and assembled on-site, the ‘Future Proof Home’ takes a ‘fabric first’ approach to building, using only the most sustainable and efficient materials. Paul Armstrong, Technical Director at Trivselhus-by-Esh, commented: “When specifying materials, products and technologies to be used in the ‘Future Proof Home’ we looked for performance and sustainability which complimented our design and build. To this end, Alutec’s aluminium rainwater met these requirements perfectly.

Installed on the house was Alutec’s Evoke fascia and soffit system in RAL 7015 Slate Grey, which is manufactured from a recycled polyethylene core and an aluminium outer layer. Only 4mm thick and with a life expectancy of more than 50 years that is virtually maintenance free, the Evoke range performs extremely well whilst being a highly sustainable specification choice – aluminium composite board uses approximately 75 per cent less energy than that needed to manufacture the equivalent volume in solid aluminium sheet.

Also installed on the house was Alutec’s Alligator Deepflow guttering and Flush-Fit ø76mm downpipe in the same colour. Alutec’s Alligator range has the same long life expectancy as the Evoke range and is made from marine grade aluminium, which is impervious to corrosion.

After the show, which is set to take place between Friday 20th March and Monday 6th April 2015 at the Olympia London, the ‘Future Proof Home' will be transported to a site in Hexham, which is planned for development by The ESH Group.
