Architectural glazing systems used at Wembley Hilton Hotel, London

Leading architectural aluminium systems company Metal Technology has supplied its architectural glazing systems on the Wembley Hilton hotel.

This striking design by The Manser Practice Architects offers flush glazing and highly polished black granite facades which contrasts with the articulated form of the arena reflecting the striking imagery of the surrounding buildings, including Wembley Stadium’s iconic arch.

A glazed foyer will create a visual extension of the openness and activity of Arena Square into the building. Metal Technology’s System 17SP Curtain Walling, 5-20D doors and 4-20 casement windows have all been installed on this striking building constructed by main contractor John Sisk and Sons Ltd.

System 17 SP, is a silicone pointed glazing system used to construct visually impressive flush glass façades. The system offers the designer a wide range of profiles that provide structural integrity, weather performance and thermal enhancement, while its classic visual appearance offers a continuous and expansive façade uninterrupted by external cover caps. The system is further enhanced by the introduction of concealed frameless top hung casement windows.

System 5-20D thermally broken doors and 4-20 casement windows have been designed to meet and in many cases exceed the current building regulations thermally, with both security and sustainability also featuring highly in these systems the specifier is able to meet the high demands relating to building design and performance.

The 441 bed luxury Hilton hotel is part of the new Wembley Masterplan, which incorporates a mixture of commercial, leisure, retail and residential accommodation and community facilities around the new Wembley Stadium. The hotel will become a social hub and a catalyst for regeneration of the area and includes a ballroom, restaurants, a health club, a business centre and conference facilities.
