Barbour builds on its content

Barbour Product Search evolved from the Barbour Compendium - the big red book that sat on architects desks. Since moving online, we've been continuously refining the search engine, and trying to improve the offering to both manufacturers and to our specification audience.

In 2011 we focussed on design, launching a redesigned site plus mobile and tablet versions. Throughout 2012 we have been concentrating on content.

The latest development in the drive to enhance the content is the launch of an online content management system for manufacturers to use when they need to update or add to their content. All content is still carefully moderated by our team of editors, but the manufacturers now have a more convenient platform to submit changes and manage their profiles.

In parallel we have been adding new content opportunities for our manufacturers - in addition to the featured products, case studies, news, video, catalogues, cad and BIM objects, manufacturers can now include CPD courses, local reps, suppliers and lots of product attributes and accreditations. You can see an example of the new content on Cubicle Centre's profile.

We hope you like the developments. If there is any content you think we should be including, or any other site feedback, please email us with your suggestions.
