Ardgowan Homes needed a design of garage door that reflected the quality and exclusivity of the three, four and five bedroom detached houses at the house builder’s prestigious Ballochmyle development in Ayrshire.

The solution, in terms of aesthetics and product quality, came in the form of Hörmann UK’s LTH 40 V-panel Hemlock solid timber infill doors, supplied and fitted by Ayrshire Garage Doors. Hemlock is a grayish white to light-greyish brown softwood with a predominantly straight grain, brown mineral stripes along the grain and bark pockets, all of which add to the traditional beauty of the door.

The aesthetic quality of this timber door was further enhanced by specifying classic V-panel glazing along the top panel of the door, which also helps let natural light into the garage.

Hemlock is one of the most durable timber products on the market and is capable of withstanding the adverse weather conditions common to some parts of Scotland. To further increase protection against the elements and insect or fungal attack, all Hörmann timber doors are pre-treated and impregnated in a double immersion bath process at the factory.
