BMA elects three new honorary officers

The Bathroom Manufacturers Association welcomes three new honorary officers to its expert board.

As a trade body run by its members for its members, the BMA Board includes an array of experts and senior figures from within the sector. Their extensive knowledge and deep understanding help to guide the association in its activities, from addressing and improving sustainability and compliance to the challenges presented by ever-shifting market forces.

The new board members, Julie Mclean, Marketing Director at Hansgrohe UK & Ireland, Mike Gahir, Managing Director at Lakes Showering Spaces and Steve Forbes, Managing Director at STH Westco, will bring the total number of board members to 13.

BMA Chief Executive Tom Reynolds said: “The new board members will bring an additional perspective and expert views on the future of the sector and the association.

“The BMA membership has grown considerably this year, and their industry insights will be invaluable in the coming years. This will especially be the case as we navigate the many changes taking place in manufacturing and the policy landscape at the moment.”

Mike Gahir, Managing Director at Lakes Showering Spaces, explained: “It’s a great honour for me to join the Bathroom Manufacturers Association board, and I am looking forward to contributing to the excellent work being carried out.

“Lakes are big supporters of the BMA, and we appreciate the work they do to bring the industry closer together.

“By focusing on the big issues, such as sustainability and product compliance, we can help give bathroom manufacturers the voice they deserve.”

Julie Mclean, Marketing Director at Hansgrohe UK & Ireland, said: “The Bathroom Manufacturers Association is a well-respected trade body that has worked incredibly hard to ensure it represents the views of our industry and its members. It’s an honour and a privilege to be invited to join the board.

“I’m also delighted to be joining the BMA at a time when sustainability is becoming a bigger focus for government and wider society. Representing Hansgrohe UK & Ireland, we are passionate about conserving water as a precious resource – whilst ensuring the highest level of quality for our customers.

“I look forward to making a meaningful contribution to this topic and others in the coming months.”

Steve Forbes, Managing Director at STH Westco, said: "I'm delighted to join the BMA board. The association's incredible work, especially in these times of unprecedented challenges with water efficiency legislation changes and economic pressures, is both necessary and commendable.

“I look forward to collaborating with like-minded colleagues across our industry and to support the ongoing efforts led by Tom and the amazing team."
