Bradwell Hospital, Newcastle-under-Lyme

Client: Bradwell Hospital, Newcastle-under-Lyme
Contractor: Trenton Construction
Type of works: supply of GX Gutter and Skyline Fascia systems

GX Gutter and Skyline Fascia systems from Alumasc have provided a high performance rainwater solution at Bradwell Hospital in Newcastle-under-Lyme.

Operated by North Staffordshire Community Healthcare, Bradwell Hospital provides services for patients requiring rehabilitation, intermediate care and long term health assessments. The refurbishment works were co-ordinated by Main Contractor Trenton Construction as part of North Staffordshire’s "Fit for the Future" programme, an ambitious four-year project aiming to improve healthcare provision for local people.

The project presented a challenge due to an existing inbound gutter which was causing internal leakage. Alumasc’s technical department worked closely alongside the installing contractor to overcome the problem by designing a rainwater system to channel the water externally. GX is a BBA Approved, pressed aluminium, fully engineered box section gutter range designed for traditional wet jointing on site. The system is offered in three profiles in a choice of sizes and is especially suited to applications where maximum capacity gutters are required.

At Bradwell, GX was used in conjunction with Alumasc’s Skyline fascia and soffit system to provide a clean, contemporary appearance to uplift and rejuvenate the hospital exterior. Skyline is manufactured from high quality, polyester powder coated aluminium and available in four bold generic shapes, as well as bespoke designs.

Both GX and Skyline offer a choice of BBA approved polyester powder coatings, available in 16 standard factory applied colours, with BS or RAL colours available to special order.
In accordance with Alumasc’s Environmental policy, aluminium is 100% recyclable.
