BRE A+ For Kingspan Kooltherm K-Range

The Kooltherm K-range of products produced at Kingspan Insulation Ltd’s Pembridge site has achieved across-the-board A+ BRE Green Guide 2008 Summary Ratings.

The ratings were awarded by BRE Global, which used its 2008 Environmental Profiles Methodology to assess the environmental impacts of the products across their entire life cycles from cradle to grave. The 2008 Green Guide rating system uses such data to classify performance in a number of key areas and awards a summary rating on a scale from E up to A+.

Kingspan Insulation also commissioned BRE Global to carry out an environmental profile assessment for its Therma product range. Foil-faced Therma products also achieved an A+ BRE Green Guide 2008 Summary Rating. Therma products with other facings achieved an A rating.

John Garbutt, Marketing Director at Kingspan Insulation said “We are clearly delighted, although not surprised, about this excellent result. Having an A+ accreditation, together with the fact that both we and all of our main raw material suppliers are certified to ISO 14001, means that the Kooltherm K-range of products carry the potential for maximum insulation material credits in BREEAM section Mat 6.”
