Sector: Retail/ Residential
Contractor: Churngold Construction
Brief
Home to blue-chip companies, a host of visitor attractions, including @t Bristol, and a major new residential development, Bristol Harbourside is a 19-acre mixed-use development which is rapidly becoming one of the South Wests most sought after places to live, work and play.
For such a high profile scheme the landscape architect required a signature hard landscaping product to create a clean appearance, look attractive when weathered and also be in keeping with Bristols rich heritage. With more than 8,000 m2 of public realm within the development, the product also needed to be suitable for multiple applications including footways, access roads and car parking.
Solution
Aggregate Industriess Andover Textured block paving already has a strong and established presence within the Bristol city area and was an obvious choice for the Harbourside scheme. The Silver Grey colour was chosen to provide a clean, contemporary appearance with exposed black and white Cornish aggregate adding texture to the landscape without creating an uneven surface.
Aggregate Industries also worked closely with the contractor, providing estimated volume details to ensure that the correct quantities were ordered and delivered according to the construction programme.
Dave Hall, Project Manager, Churngold Construction: said: Aggregate Industries worked closely with us providing a detailed take off using their CAD services, which led to prompt and timely delivery of the specified product.
