Capital East is one of the single largest redevelopment projects in Londons thriving Docklands area. Located on the vibrant Royal Victoria Dock, it offers exclusive waterside living, with over 700 stylish one, two and three bedroom apartments.
In total, the prestigious scheme features nine ultra-modern glass-walled buildings, ranging in height from nine to 18 storeys, with a three level car park extending below. Situated adjacent to the ExCel exhibition centre, the three acre site benefits from the Docklands infrastructure and close links to key parts of London.
Fire Design Solutions designed, installed and commissioned a comprehensive fire and smoke safety package. This included natural and mechanical smoke ventilation, a smoke detection/fire alarm system and impulse car-park ventilation system.
As the only company capable of delivering such a fully-integrated turnkey solution, Fire Design Solutions unique holistic approach to fire and smoke safety system design offered Barratt Homes a range of benefits including significant cost and area savings.
The three level underground car park is ventilated by Fire Design Solutions impulse ventilation system. Compliant with Approved Document F and Approved Document B, the system uses CO detection for efficient environmental control, and heat detection for smoke ventilation in the event of a fire.
