With the on-going desire to improve the energy efficiency of buildings throughout the UK, leading PIR insulation manufacturer Celotex has launched Celotex SW3000, an innovative and direct render solution for external solid walls for both new build and refurbishment projects.
Celotex SW3000 is an external wall insulation (EWI) solution featuring PIR insulation with coated glass tissue facers. With endorsements from many of the UKs leading EWI system providers, it has been specifically designed to act as a direct render solution, enabling the render system to be directly applied onto the insulation with no requirement for separate batten systems or render boards.
With a thermal performance as low as 0.026 W/mK, Celotex SW3000 also has a better thermal efficiency than many other insulation products that are used on EWI systems. This results in SW3000 being up to 50% thinner than many mineral fibre products which in turn reduces installation time and cost.
The result of significant investment in research and development, Celotex SW3000 offers impressive thermal performance and ease of application. The solution also carries moisture resistance properties, unlike mineral fibre and phenolic which can suffer from moisture penetration, leading to thermal degradation.
Available in a variety of thicknesses and a board size of 1200mm x 600mm, Celotex SW3000 is typically installed by mechanically fixing the boards to the walls and then applying the render system onto the boards.
Completing our range of refurbishment solutions for internal and external thermal upgrades, Celotex SW3000 can achieve Building Regulation targets for external solid walls with thinner solutions than many other insulation materials, commented Paul Evans, Product Manager for Celotex. The introduction of SW3000 proves that Celotex really does know insulation inside and out.
The growing relevance and popularity of rigid polyioscyurnate (PIR) insulation throughout the UK is a result of the considerable benefits - designers can achieve the highest insulation values from the minimum thickness of material. With products ranging from just 12mm thick through to an impressive 200mm, Celotex provides the broadest offering of PIR thermal insulation on the market.
Comprising solutions for both internal and external applications, and with the Green Deal set to impact on the market with a move away from mineral fibre products used for upgrading lofts and cavities to solid wall subsidies, Celotex is well placed to take advantage of these opportunities through their solid wall offerings.
With the Green Deal set to become the biggest home improvement campaign since the Second World War, market leader Celotex has the range of PIR solutions that will revolutionise the energy efficiency of British homes.
