Cembrits cladding range Urbannature has been used on a new, purpose-built cinema in the heart of Newquay, Cornwall. The colour range inspired both by nature and sophisticated urban living, adds a modern look to the traditional coastal town surroundings, while establishing the building as a visual landmark in the locality.
The Lighthouse is a contemporary cinema designed by cinema specialist, NBDA Ltd. The building is split over two levels and includes four screens with state of the art digital projection and 3D, a large entrance foyer area, and a bar. The new cinema was eagerly anticipated by locals as the town had been without one for sixteen years. NBDA recognised that modern cladding would create an innovative and exciting building that could entice visitors to the facility.
The Urbannnature cladding was supplied and fitted by LSC Facades Ltd of Romsey. The company was established in 1988 and has extensive experience all aspects of cladding supply and installation. Urbannature was perfect for this project as the colours create an impact while the material performs to a high standard without breaking the budget.
The project took advantage of the wide range of colours offered by Urbannature. The 4 colour ranges have been selected by colour experts to be able to be combined on the same project. Colours from 3 of the 4 Urbannature selections, Fusion, Edge and True provided contrasting colours and finishes to create an interesting, stylish façade. Urbannnature cladding sheets combine strength, durability with ease of handling to make them an ideal solution for all types of public and private sector project. The durability of the material allows the cladding to resist weather of all kinds while continuing to retain its shape at all times. Furthermore, an ability to resist rot and fungal infection is equally impressive. The result is a durable rainscreen that requires minimal maintenance.
