CEP Ceilings in Essex Hospital

CEP Ceilings in Essex Hospital

Client: Broomfield Hospital, Essex
Type of works: Supply of 40,000sqm of HealthcarePLUS ceilings

The £148 million Broomfield Hospital PFI is now complete providing a single acute hospital site in mid Essex. With five floors covering 43,000sqm the building provides many new facilities for the local population including 365 beds, five new operating theatres, A&E and maternity departments plus a neonatal intensive care unit.

After vigorous testing 40,000sqm of HealthcarePLUS ceilings from CEP were supplied. Healthcare Plus is an extremely high performance product, designed specifically for healthcare and hygiene related applications. It fully complies with the HTM 60 and new HTM 08-01 acoustic design guidelines. The tough reinforced tissue face also enables high levels of acoustic performance whilst offering a smooth imperforate surface.

As with all hospital projects of this size there was a lot of pressure on all the interior product suppliers to provide large volumes in a short pace of time. CEP were commended by the main contractor, Bougyues UK, for achieving this to enable successful completion. CEP Ceilings have also worked successfully with Bouygues on the recent North Middlesex University Hospital development.

CEP Ceilings Ltd offers a full range of suspended ceilings and acoustic systems as well as GRG mouldings from their UK bases in Frome and Stafford.
