A national campaign has been launched to call for a standard Made in Britain marque to be applied to all products manufactured in the UK. It is hoped the logo - designed to be used in marketing campaigns, on labels and on websites - will help shoppers identify goods of British origin.
Over the past 12 months the campaign has gone from strength to strength with over 600 manufacturers signed up to the logo, including Stoves, Imperial Bathrooms, Redring Showers and now Contour Showers. The marque has also received backing from a number of prominent MPs including Ed Miliband who mentioned it in a speech made to the EEF in March 2012.
The campaign was originally launched after research uncovered widespread confusion amongst consumers about Made in Britain goods. The findings revealed that half of UK consumers are baffled when it comes to buying British, two-thirds want an official seal of approval to show products made in Britain and the majority think British brands should bring manufacturing back to the UK.
Contour Showers are proud to manufacture all shower trays, shower doors and wetroom floor formers at its factories based in Winsford, Cheshire and Longton, Stoke-on-Trent.
With over 600 UK manufacturers now signed up to the logo, Contour are continuing to call for even more businesses to support the initiative and help British manufacturing.
