Client: Coworth Park Hotel and Spa
Architect: Purcell Miller Triton
Contractor: Galiford Try
Type of works: design, supply and installation of steam room and feature showers.
Dröm UK, the Surrey-based specialist in the design, supply and installation of the finest quality sauna rooms, steam rooms and steam showers, has been appointed to provide a state-of-the-art luxury steam room and feature showers complex for the soon-to-be launched Coworth Park Hotel and Spa, a member of The Dorchester Collection.
We are thrilled to have been selected to handle this prestigious project said Barry Smith, Director of Dröm UK. We believe that Coworth Park Spa is set to be one of the UKs first carbon-neutral spas and the interior will be a sumptuous rural haven.
Coworth Park Spa is indeed an architectural triumph; the entire building is submerged into the landscape so as not to intrude on the breathtaking views, with the roof covered in fragrant herbs (lavender, camomile and various grasses) which will be used in the Spas treatments.
The poolside steam-complex will incorporate two separate lounging and relaxation areas, one at each side of the steam room. Beyond each of these are shower areas, one to be a pre-swim shower, and the other to include Experience feature showers incorporating rainmist, cloudburst, cascade and pulsating massage functions, all with curved enclosures.
The central feature is the steam room itself. Measuring approximately 3.5 x 2.5m, it will comfortably seat 10 people on granite, cantilevered floating benches, with fibre-optic lighting underneath. The walls and vaulted ceiling will feature luxury glass mosaic tiling.
Dröm UK will be working alongside the architect Purcell Miller Triton, interior designers Fox Linton Associates, project managers Buro Four, and the main contractor Galiford Try to deliver this project.
