Soundcraft has manufactured and installed aluminium curtain wall, tilt and turn windows, brises soleil and commercial doors for Trumpington Community College. Trumpington Community College will be Cambridge’s first new Secondary School for 40 years and will be opening its doors in September 2016.

Soundcraft worked on all elevations of the buildings. The aluminium SCW+ Curtain Walling system was the preferred choice for the project. Manufactured in Soundcraft’s factory in a controlled, clean environment, the curtain wall sections were supplied to site for prompt installation to reduce storage space requirements on site.

The specified doors were from the SD Aluminium Commercial Door range which has proved in service over many years to be robust and reliable, and to provide excellent performance necessary to cater for the inevitable high traffic levels of the College.

The aluminium SPW300 tilt/turn windows meet all the current building regulations. Aesthetically, the aluminium brises soleil play a big part on the appearance of the building, with the added benefit of providing increased UV protection.

Soundcraft’s Project Manager, Will Jones said: “ Trumpington is so far our biggest aluminium project. It required a lot of dedication and time but the result is impressive. It was a very demanding, but satisfying project to work on.”
