D&D transform the former Olympic Stadium

Bespoke pod specialist Design & Display Structures played a vital role in the transformation of the former Olympic Stadium having been appointed to design, manufacture and install approximately 8,500 m2 of modular GRP cladding to 23 No spectator facility pods and kiosks located around the Stadium perimeter.

The main pods appear as cut gems with the largest measuring some 21m wide x 12m deep. Each pod / kiosk performs a specific function and is fitted out accordingly with combinations of turnstiles, catering, storage, washrooms and toilets by Igloos.

D&D coordinated their design to account for roller shutters, ventilation louvres, glazed doors and side screens, Halo canopy columns, rain water pipes and overhead security mesh, all of which penetrate into the GRP skin fixed down to a Metsec load bearing frame.
