National contractor, Wates Construction completed works at Braywick Leisure Centre in September 2020 despite challenges posed by Covid-19. This project was delivered as carbon neutral and designed to use 70% less energy than its predecessor.
“People go to Braywick Leisure Centre and want to have an environment they enjoy being in, which is why
chilling the facility is a very important factor in this project. We also had a unique acoustic requirement. We
are next to a graveyard and so have been specified 50db at 20 meters, which is quite unique and a very
important aspect to the local community. Running the unit at 89% load achieves the decibels needed.”
(Alex Tuson, Assistant Project Engineer, and Peter Collier, Principal Building Services Manager Construction,
both at Wates Group).
The EWAD-TZ Chiller was an ideal solution for the specific specifications of this project; chosen for its Platinum efficiency rating, optional heat recovery and market leading reduced sound configuration.
