Dale Joinery brings style to 1960s Rectory

As the owner of this 1960s ‘new’ style rectory, Mrs King has undertaken a drastic redesign and restyling of the property to create a more attractive, locally styled home for herself and her family.

“Previously there were tenants living here, but when we decided to move in, we made the decision to really put our stamp on the house and make it our own” she explains.

Through speaking with their builder for the project, Dale Joinery were recommended via their local merchant, who having worked with Dale for a number of years, knew that their style of windows and doors would be what the homeowners would be looking for.

“We visited the NSBRC in Swindon to view the Dale range plus another company. When we were there, we just knew that the Dale products were right for us and for the house” Mrs King comments.

Ensuring they created the right look for their home, the Kings took their time making the decisions on the styles, colours and fine details of their new windows and doors. As a result, the new windows and doors feature a mixture of leaded light detailing and Georgian glazing throughout.

“The new windows and doors have had such a transformative effect on the house. Windows are the eyes of the house so it’s crucial that you get them right; they have been a great success!”

Summarising her experience with the new products, Mrs King advises “you should never scrimp on roof tiles or windows, they make such a difference! Always get the best you can afford.”

THE DALE JOINERY SOLUTION
Flush Casement Windows
Designed with the style of other local properties in mind, flush casement windows in ‘Pure White’ with leaded light detailing were installed across the home, with timeless Black Monkeytail handles and pegstays.

Entrance Door
A beautiful ‘Hadleigh’ style front door with sidelights creates a beautiful entrance to the King’s home. The door is finished in a colour complementary to Farrow & Ball ‘Skylight’ while the frame and sidelight are in ‘Pure White’. The two colours work perfectly together, with the door enhanced by 18mm astragal glazing bars and a Black Chatsworth handle.

French Doors
At the rear of the property, traditional timber French doors and flag windows were also selected, in the same ‘Pure White’ finish as the new windows, adorned with 18mm astragal glazing bars, contrasting with the leaded lights of the other windows across the home.
