DHL Hams Hall Distribution Facility

DHL Hams Hall Distribution Facility

Architect: Tony Gee & Partners
Sector: Industrial
Client: DHL
Contractor: McDermott Construction

DHL had for some time experienced problems with cracking to the external paving at their Hams Hall distribution facility. Round the clock access by 42 tonne articulated vehicles dictated a construction regime that gave access to completed concrete slabs at 24 hours.

Diamondcrete RA, a fast curing high strength concrete was proposed to McDermott Construction to meet both operational deadlines for return to use.

The high ultimate strength achieved by Diamondcrete RA, typically in excess of 85N/mm2 affords significant whole life costs benefits over traditional concrete grades.
