DOORTAL Acoustic Steel Doors for London Broadcasting Studios

DOORTAL Acoustic Steel Doors for London Broadcasting Studios

DOORTAL UK was chosen by the well-known broadcasting house in London, to provide the high acoustic rated steel door sets for their broadcasting and interviewing rooms.

The acoustic performance was the most crucial aspect that was required for the recording studios, but the aesthetics of the doors also played a large part in the design due to being in a busy environment with constant use.

The studios had a high specification and requirements which need to be achieved. DOORTAL UK, a part of the DOORTAL Global group, is a recognised market leader for the performance of acoustic steel doors, having accumulated over 15 years of experience.

DOORTALS acoustic steel door range consists of three main models: SONIPLUS 40, SONIPLUS 45 and SONIPLUS 50 in order to offer up to 50 dB and more in sound reduction, and has now also been further extended to include the SONIPLUS 55 model and also the SONIPLUS 62 tandem which is capable of achieving 62dB. Extra-large sizes are also available up to 4.5 metres wide by 5 metres high.

The ratings have been certified by official “third party” laboratories according to EN ISO 140-1, EN 20140-2 and EN ISO 140-3 standards as well as EN ISO 717/1 standard. These door sets can combine acoustic ratings with fire resistance (30 and 60 minutes) and thermal rating (U value 2.1 and 1.9 W/m².K).

The SONIPLUS door sets have been designed with a slim threshold (12 mm thick) as standard but are also available without a threshold bar by using an automatic drop seal system. This facilitates access for disabled persons and wheeled equipment, or simply offers improved aesthetics.
