Grand Design Blinds have been specified to provide a 25mm Duette fabric for a riverside property in Surrey. The client had owned this riverside property for some years and decided to transform the attic into a master bedroom suite with extensive river views. Owing to the low eave height at the gable-end, it was necessary to have shaped blinds adjoining the doors to a balcony.

Previous blind companies had failed to deliver a successful solution, having quoted, Grand Design Blinds went to site and discussed options with the client, showing various examples of what they might install. In order to preserve personal privacy combined with retention of open views in daylight, the client requested that all blinds draw up from the base level, with cord-tensioned manual operation.

To combine a sophisticated, clean appearance with good insulating qualities a 25mm Duette fabric called ‘Linen Silk’ was chosen, in the pale colour ’Platinum’. Both client and neighbours say that the blinds provide necessary privacy combined with excellent appearance and function.
