In order to help CRASH the construction and property industrys charity for the homeless transform an old bus garage into nine self-contained bedsits, for a Cheshire based charity, Knauf Insulation has donated 65 rolls of its Earthwool® Loft Roll insulation.
Recent figures show that more than half of teenagers leaving local authority care are being placed in unsafe and unsuitable accommodation. Therefore, MoCoCo has been working with CRASH to refurbish premises to create appropriate accommodation for young adults.
The former bus garage was first turned into a café and youth centre before being acquired by Middlewich Community Churches. MoCoCo approached CRASH for help to transform the inhabitable building into living quarters with a warden flat, a training room and a small laundry room. Working alongside fellow CRASH Patron companies, Knauf Insulation donated Earthwool Loft Roll to improve the thermal and acoustic performance of the building.
Jeanette Davidson, MoCoCo Houses Centre Manager said: MoCoCo House, which could not have been established without CRASH, will provide a safe, secure and supportive environment to help homeless young adults grow and develop and be empowered to manage their own life for the future.
Knauf Insulations lightweight and economic Earthwool Loft Roll insulation provides outstanding thermal performance, which will deliver the young adults a warm and sound environment to enjoy.
