Architect: Hall Grey Architects Ltd
Contractor: Sol Construction Ltd
Structural engineer: Norder Design Associate
Type of works: design and manufacture of bespoke load-bearing arches.

Fairfaced Bathstone reconstructed stone was used to create these load-bearing arches. The brick element is of 25mm slips that have been bonded to what is a fully load-bearing arch. The end bearings of 150mm are of stainless-steel angles that are designed to fit in with the adjacent brickwork, without the need for any further finishes. The only other requirement is for a simple box lintel to support the inner leaf. This system does away with the need for skilled arch building on site and replaces plastic arch infills with a quality stone finish.
