Emergency and unscheduled care unite in £110m centre at Grampian

Envirotect Limited has completed the design, development and installation of the iodine treatment rooms at NHS Grampian’s emergency care centre, one of the largest of its type in Europe.

Estimated to have cost £110m, the facility will bring emergency and unscheduled care services under one roof, and provide 350 inpatient beds. Working with the main contractor Robertson, Envirotect Limited installed thick lead shielding to walls and service penetrations as well as 20mm lead equivalent patient observation windows on level six of the site. Matching doors with 4mm shielding were also installed.

Working with its customers, Envirotect offers a total radiation shielding package from design and manufacture to installation, on site training and technical support.
