EMSc (UK) Ltd wins PwC Technology Innovation of the Year Award

EMSc (UK) Ltd, manufacturer of the Star® range of energy saving solutions, was named the winner of the Technology Innovation of the Year Award during the regional PwC Private Business Awards in Leeds on Tuesday 26th June

The award, which recognises world-leading technology, was presented to EMSc (UK) Ltd for its innovative Powerstar voltage optimisation solution and the company will now be entered into the national PwC Private Business Awards 2012, scheduled to take place in September at The Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London.

Commenting on the award Dr Alex Mardapittas, EMSc (UK) Ltd managing director and inventor of Powerstar said: “We are delighted to have won this award, which recognises our company's forward thinking approach and innovative energy saving solutions. We strive to constantly improve our range of solutions and this is fantastic recognition for our team.”

The PwC Technology Innovation of the Year Award supplements the company’s earlier success – it is accredited with the Made in Sheffield accolade in acknowledgement of the quality of its manufacturing process and the overall success of Powerstar; it won the 2010 Innovation in Action Award and the Innovation of the Year Award in the Yorkshire Post Excellence in Business Awards in 2011.

EMSc (UK) Ltd is currently celebrating over 10 years of British design and manufacturing success. At a time when Japanese and Chinese electronic and engineered solutions dominated the market the company maintained its research, development, sourcing and manufacturing in the UK, refusing to compromise on quality. The company is particularly proud that its success has inspired its competitors to switch aspects of their assembly to the UK as well.
