External wall insulation for Sheffield uni accommodation

External wall insulation for Sheffield uni accommodation

External wall insulation from Structherm was used on Sheffield University student accommodation development.

The purpose built student accommodation comprises of a block of 25 en-suite apartments, made up of 171 rooms. The building is situated within the Endcliffe Student Village area, within a 20 minute walk of the main University buildings and the Students’ Union.

This student housing block provides a good example of how Structherm’s NSC2a system can be utilised to give a robust and low maintenance finish to a building which may experience heavy wear and tear.

The structure was constructed from dense concrete block work and 125mm thick mineral fibre was fixed to the block work. The building was then completed with Structherm NSC2a render and the white finish was achieved using acrylic Flesscoat Cortina Normale render.
