First Secured by Design Approved Rooflight

Immediately available is the new Plateau Secured by Design from the Rooflight Company.

The new product has been designed following discussions between Secured by Design and the Rooflight Company to provide a high-security solution for flat roof day lighting. The product is suited for school installations, and is equally applicable to other vulnerable buildings such as health centres and laboratories where security is paramount. While there exists a large number of window designs that are accredited by the Secured by Design standard, this is the first and only rooflight that gives specifiers and users the reassurance of anti-intruder testing.

The Plateau Secured by Design is constructed from stainless steel and can be finished in any RAL colour. Coated stainless-steel intruder bars are an option, although the product achieved Secured by Design classification without glazing bars based on its solid construction and high-security glazing package.

The product was tested at the BRE to LPCB 1175-6, which is the standard required by the ACPO-backed Secured by Design authority. The engineers involved in the testing commented very positively on the robust design and construction of the unit.
