Type of works: supply and installation of 40m of FUSION® Commercial outdoor balustrade.

The Kent rugby club began its latest redevelopment in 2007 and, with the support of the RFU, its facilities have grown to now include four pitches, eight changing rooms and an extended clubhouse, with a raised viewing platform. The aim was to create a modern clubhouse with a safe and stylish balcony, offering a vantage point for spectators and players.

Andy Dagger, project team leader for Folkestone Rugby Club, said: “This redevelopment is the result of a lot of hard work by everybody associated with the club, so we wanted to make sure the result lived up to expectations. The FUSION® Commercial system not only created a contemporary finish that looks great but it also gave us the option of putting our own unique stamp on the clubhouse design. The team and community ethos within the club has always played a key part in our success and having the club logo on the glass panel reinforces this team spirit, as well as being a stand-out feature.”

Approximately 40m of FUSION® Commercial outdoor balustrade was installed on the perimeter of the new balcony to provide an essential safety barrier. The glass panel system enhanced the sense of space, with minimal disruption to views of the pitch. The club’s logo was etched into the glass panels to add a bespoke finishing touch.
