With support from Franke, over 50 of its ‘More in Store’ retailers have raised over £3,000 as part of Marie Curie’s national ‘Blooming Great Tea Party’ campaign. The showroom that raised the most money, Rowe Fitted Interiors in the Wirral, will now benefit from an exclusive baking masterclass from 2014 Great British Bake Off finalist, Luis Troyano, as a thank you for their efforts.
The masterclass from Luis was introduced as an added bonus this year for the top fundraising showroom. Luis will host the baking masterclass in December at Rowe Fitted Interiors, which raised an impressive £531. He will bake a Christmas star bread and a decorated layer cake, as well as answering questions, sharing tips and signing copies of his new book, Bake it Great.
The retailer that raised the second highest amount, AE Spink in Doncaster, received signed copies of Bake it Great. To date this year, the total raised across the country through the Blooming Great Tea Parties is £537,000 including the contributions from Franke’s More in Store retailers, which will provide more than 26,850 hours of vital nursing care.
Steve Rutter, Marketing Operations Manager at Franke, said "We were delighted to see an increase in More in Store retailers joining in the fundraising fun this year. The tea parties have given the retailers an excellent tool for engaging with their local community, generating local PR and of course, they’ve raised vital funds for Marie Curie at the same time. I heartily congratulate Rowe Interiors for their valiant fundraising efforts and wish them a very successful masterclass with Luis.”
