Responding to retailer and customer feedback, the added functionality of Franke’s pioneering push-button operation for its pop-up waste is now available across the Epos, Mythos, Sinos and Midas sink ranges in addition to the existing Largo and Hydros inset ranges.
The highly popular benefit of the push-button system is that it allows users to conveniently empty the main bowl without the need to put their hands into the sink, while the basket strainer waste collects food debris for easy disposal into the bin to help prevent blocked drains. The patented push-button sits almost flush with the sink to inconspicuously blend in with the sink area. When the drain is closed, it protrudes by around 12mm for easy operation.
Neil Clarke, managing director at Franke, said "Functionality is the key when we look at product innovation and it is often the smaller details that make all the difference. This simplest of ideas, that a sink could be emptied without you needing to put your hands into the murky water, led to us pioneering the push-button system for the pop-up waste, as a progression of the ‘twist’ mechanism. It’s obvious lifestyle enhancing benefits have made it such a popular innovation that we have extended it to four more ranges and will look to adding it to more in the future.”
