Free FIA Membership

The Fire Industry Association (FIA) has introduced an offer to companies seeking membership of the association which will see them paying nothing for the remainder of this business year.

Since the start of the FIA’s business year on 1 April, 2009, some 69 companies have joined the association, representing a 26 percent increase in membership. But, keen to continue developing the already significant influence that the FIA has in the fire protection industry by representing even more companies, the association has come up with the new incentive scheme. Any company joining before 31 March 2010 will receive free membership until the end of March 2010, this represents up to a 25 percent saving on the membership fee.

Michael Gregg, Membership Manager with the FIA, comments – “It’s been a record year for new members but we still want to become even more representative of quality fire protection in the UK and one way of doing that is to attract new companies. We certainly represent a very significant proportion of the industry in value terms with most of the large manufacturers, designers and installers of fire protection systems amongst our members. However, this year we have made a concerted effort to attract the SME businesses with a number of specific initiatives, most notably our ‘Route to Certification’ scheme which is designed to help the smaller companies achieve ISO registration and third party certification. Most of the new members have been SME’s and we want to continue the push in this direction, hence the incentive scheme.”
