The project

The Fulham Boys School is a Free School for secondary aged boys located in West London.
Since opening in 2014, The Fulham Boys School has grown from just 80 to nearly 800 students and moved into its new, purpose-built building located in the heart of Fulham in March 2021.

The solution

Award toilet cubicles were the perfect choice for the brand new facilities at The Fulham Boys School. Simple to install and easy to clean and maintain, Award is a solution that will last for years to come.

Specified in Solid Grade Laminate (SGL), the Award toilet cubicles are tough enough to cope with the constant use and daily impacts of school life. Completely impact resistant and impervious to water, the cubicles can withstand regular and thorough cleaning.

Fitted as standard, Venesta’s Award toilet cubicle range features emergency release indicator bolts allowing access to the cubicle in the event of an emergency, without the need to remove the door or damage the lock. The toilet cubicles also feature anti-tamper fixings with concealed hinges and locks to ensure student safety and privacy.

A sleek and modern grey colour palette was chosen for the washroom with the toilet cubicles finished in Gunmetal and Cloud, complete with light grey powder coated aluminium fittings providing the perfect combination of good looks and durability.

Solid surface washtroughs with matching lockable SGL underpanels in Gunmetal were specified to create a stylish and modern handwash area. The school opted for sensor taps for increased hygiene and water savings. Solid surface can stand up to all amounts of wear and tear, is easy to clean and maintain and can be easily repaired should it be damaged over time, so an ideal choice for schools.

In addition to the Venesta toilet cubicles the school also specified Frameduct for their new washroom. Frameduct is a simple metal-framed, non-plumbed duct panelling solution which offered the school complete flexibility to select their own sanitaryware to be fitted on site. The Frameduct panelling was made to measure and features a click-fix mechanism making installation quick and easy. The panelling, which was also manufactured in SGL, has concealed the WC plumbing to create a clean modern look, for a low maintenance washroom solution.

Award cubicles are a versatile solution that work well in both wet and dry environments, which is why they were also chosen for the school’s shower facilities. The shower cubicles were specified in SGL, ensuring water resistance to guarantee longevity. The shower facilities were completed with the inclusion of an oversized, ambulant and fully accessible cubicle.
