Composition and manufacture
The pre-formed tray for stepped and staggered gable abutments is known as the Type X. Each tray is supplied with its ready-shaped flashing already attached. Trays are bedded in mortar as the exterior skin is raised, and the self-adjusting cavity upstand automatically adjusts to suit whatever cavity width is encountered. At a later date the integral flashing is dressed. The flashing on the Type X extends the full length of every tray. This is one of the many qualities that promote the high-exposure categorisation of Cavity Trayss products.
Type C trays are for use with lintels. Available pre-shaped to suit all styles and permutations of cavity wall lintel, trays are also self-supporting and cannot sag, distort or puncture like traditional damp proof courses. Accompanying Type L stop-ends and caviweeps promote efficient and controlled evacuation of water arrested. Trays are also compatible with the wide range of caviclosers manufactured by Cavity Trays, meaning every opening can be constructed to a robust, consistent and controlled detail.
For changes of level, the Type G tray offers a warranted flashing-attached intersection detail, whilst Type U undersill trays and Type K circular bullseye are two examples of the range of trays for architectural features. Products of Cavity Trays permit easy compliance with The Building Regulations, British Standards and NHBC, and have achieved LABC product type approval.
Trays are manufactured from Injection-moulded DPC Pethylene for BS 5268-3: 2006 compliance with lead flashing to BS 12588:2006.
Site and office visits, take-offs, scheme appraisals, specification reviews and advice, detailed drawing submissions and schedules are all offered by the manufacturer, and follow-up visits and issue of conformity documentation is undertaken. Seminars on architects own premises offered, covering cavity-wall construction compliance disciplines.
