Composition and manufacture
Buildings have an aluminium frame and a synthetic membrane roof. Every storage structure is supplied with profiled-steel cladding to the walls, with roller-shutter doors for vehicular access and emergency-exit personnel doors available as standard. The structures can also comprise just a roof canopy for covered working and storage areas.
Size and weight
Widths: 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30m.
Eaves heights: 4, 5 and 6m.
Lengths available in bays of 5m to suit storage volume requirements. If more than standard widths are required, it is possible to combine two structures side-by-side.
The synthetic membrane which forms the translucent roof and gable triangles allows daylight in and ensures its uniform dispersion; it can be insulated if required. Long sides are covered with single-sheet or insulated sandwich-panel cladding, available in a standard range of colours.
Units are designed and installed in accordance with BS 6399 for wind loads, which are calculated for each individual installation. Geological surveys are carried out to ensure that Useful Structures certified anchorage suits each clients needs.
A concrete or tarmacadam base is the only construction requirement, and most buildings can be erected in days. No foundations means little indication of a building having been on a site if relocated.
