Geberit maximises water efficiency and design in washrooms with new infra-red urinal controls

9 Jul 2009

Geberit, the leading manufacturer of plumbing and sanitaryware systems, is revolutionising public conveniences by offering cutting-edge design, increased levels of hygiene and savings on water resources, with their new infra-red urinal flushing controls and Duofix wall-hung urinal frames. Combined with flexible installation and safer maintenance options, Geberit’s urinal installation frames provide high-end, practical solutions for modern washrooms.

Stylishly designed to complement the sleek aesthetics of their existing WC flush plates, Geberit's urinal flush plates are created from attractive and desirable materials including zinc and stainless steel. With brand new elegant design choices, they provide the perfect finishing touch for contemporary, visually-appealing conveniences. Practically, for ease of installation and maintenance, the plates allow front access to the urinal controls, saving time and cost. They are also secured with a robust vandal-proof locking device, preventing damage to controls whilst retaining a stunning finish.

Building on this design appeal, Geberit's new infra-red flushing controls are eco-friendly, for an innovative and efficient alternative to existing products on the market. Boasting a valve flow rate of more than 0.3 l/s at 1 bar, optimal performance is achieved by reducing water flow rate through specialised flushing programs, which allow water-saving levels to be programmed. The controls can provide up to 60% water-saving compared to traditional automatic flush cisterns.

Stylish and environmentally-sensitive, the flushing controls also create a touch-free environment for unrivalled levels of hygiene. Thanks to Geberit's infra-red Triangulation Technology, a sensor detects movement within any area and is unrestricted by clothing and mirrored surfaces. Ensuring that urinals are flushed after every use the sensor eradicates unwanted odours for a pleasant washroom experience. The infra-red controls can also be programmed to flush if not used over a certain period of time, helping to remove stagnant water from pipework and keep public conveniences fresh.

Enhancing Geberit's infra-red controls, Duofix urinal frames also facilitate the prevention of back flowing water from the flush pipe. Supporting up to 15 stone in weight, the strong, wall-hung urinal frames additionally provide substantial protection against vandalism. Taking up no floor space, from a design perspective, Duofix frames create the impression of increased space.

Along with the launch of the new infra-red controls, Geberit has also launched a range of pneumatic urinal controls. Together they provide perfect solutions for modern washroom applications.
