Client: Wellcome Trust Type of works: supply of approximately 150 Motorised Venetian blinds.
Hunter Douglas Luxaflex Projects Division was required to provide a solution to the Genome Centres solar- and heat-gain problems within the building, and the problem of solar glare in the working environment. Hunter Douglas Luxaflex Projects Division provided Motorised Venetian blinds to the buildings inverted, sloping glazing. The blinds were then side-guided, and the units linked to the building management system. Several mock-ups and samples were tested prior to the final solution being agreed, which provided a solution to the problem of solar gain and glare control experienced by the users of the Genome Centre. Luxaflex® blinds have also been used in other locations within this research campus. |
