Gilgen industrial door systems have proved to be an excellent solution for a leading UK high-tech manufacturing business and have recently been specified as a solution for complex manufacturing projects.
Gilgen industrial doors were specified for a manufacturing project that required fifteen sets of high tech industrial door systems. Gilgen Door Systems supplied a sectional overhead door, three Firetex fire shutters, four Kwikroll high speed doors, five security steel personnel doors and two fire rated steel personnel doors as part of a 30,000 square foot extension earlier this year.
High speed Gilgen Kwikroll doors provide a temperature and humidity control solution between the existing and new production facilities. Installed directly in front of these doors are 4-hour rated fire shutters. These shutters remain in the open position and close automatically on fire alarm activation to form a fire break. Kwikroll doors have also been installed at both ends of a tunnel link; these doors create an air lock and only open if the other is closed. Constructed with a transparent curtain, users are able to identify if the tunnel is in use. The sectional overhead door provides access through the main entrance and steel personnel doors, two with 2-hour fire rating provide personnel access and fire escape routes.
Due to the nature of the new facility, all of the high speed doors, fire shutters and the sectional overhead door are very large, up to 6 metres in height, to ensure adequate access for the equipment.
