Gilgen Door Systems UK Ltd has provided Haskins Garden Centres with eighteen door solutions for their new flag ship centre recently opened in Angmering, West Sussex.
Working with Roberts Limbrick Architects, Haskins Garden Centres and Barnwood Construction, Gilgen installed ten automatic bi-parting sliding door systems, seven sets of manual swing door and a further three manual bi-parting sliding doors as part of the construction of one of the UK’s largest garden centres.
The specification required an access solution to suit all areas of the new building, providing an impressive front entrance and restaurant access through to fire exits and access to the plant display areas; Gilgen Door Systems were able to provide this solution.
The front entrances and exits required a total of five sets of automatic sliding doors, two of these were over 6400mm wide and one set over 6500mm wide. These bespoke size requirements ensured that the doors fitted seamlessly with the curtain walling and overall front facade design. All of the front doors feature pocket screens to meet safety recommendations and were painted to match Haskins corporate colours.
A further eight sets of automatic and manual sliding doors with and without side screens to suit the apertures available were also provided. These doors were installed to the rear of the building giving pedestrian access to the outdoor plant display areas. Five sets of Gilgen manual swing doors, double and single and featuring panic hardware, provide emergency escape routes across the building.
