10 Mar 2009

Value: £230,500
Type of works: design, manufacture and site installation of internal carbon steel blast-resistant fixed modular walls.

Booth was awarded the design, manufacture and site installation of internal carbon steel blast-resistant fixed modular walls spanning 3.6m, providing blast containment to an overpressure of 6kPa and 120 minute fire protection to the north, south and east elevations. The west elevation contained blast relief panels designed to vent at 0.96kPa blast overpressure, and reduce the containment and hence steelwork. A flush faced dry liner system was used to protect the insulation system from daily operational activities whilst providing a clean hygienic surface finish within a pharmaceutical facility. The wall system was within a steel framed facility with a proprietary insulated cladding system forming the external envelope around the remainder of the facility.
