The Pilkington Planar structural glazing system provides a flush surface and can be used for a vast number of applications, from canopies to complete glass envelopes, allowing frameless facades on any plane. Support structures, located internally or externally, include glass mullions, conventional steel constructions and tension-structure designs.
Pilkington Planar can incorporate most Pilkington glass types including Pilkington Optifloat Clear and Tinted, Pilkington Activ, Pilkington Optiwhite, Pilkington Arctic Blue, Pilkington K Glass, Pilkington Optitherm S4 and the Pilkington Suncool range.
The fittings in the Pilkington Planar system offer an ideal balance between durability and appearance. Manufactured from 316 grade stainless steel, highly engineered and tested components allow the system to offer the smallest, most aesthetically pleasing fittings available, without compromising performance. Specially customised fittings are available.
Both double- and triple-glazed insulating units can be incorporated into the system. Laminated options include the Planar SentryGlas® Plus system with its superior strength, offering thinner and lighter glazing solutions.
Fabrication and design of Pilkington glass is carried out at Pilkington Architectural, a manufacturing facility assessed to a BS EN ISO 9000:2000 quality management system.
