Glazing units

Pilkington UK Ltd

A range of Pilkington Insulight™ insulating glass units is available to meet distinct areas of application, so choosing which type to specify is easier than ever before.

Pilkington Insulight™ units incorporate the world’s first self-cleaning glass, Pilkington Activ™. The dual action uses the forces of nature to help keep the glass free from organic dirt, meaning less cleaning and clearer, better-looking windows. Pilkington Insulight™ Sun units offer many options for solar control by incorporating body-tinted glasses with increased absorption, such as Pilkington Optifloat™ Tinted and Pilkington Arctic Blue™, or coated glass, such as the Pilkington Suncool™. Pilkington Insulight™ Phon units can be specified when sound insulation is a major concern.

Pilkington Insulight™ Protect units give the reassurance of greater safety and security. Through the incorporation of Pilkington Texture Glass, Pilkington Insulight™ Decor allows for privacy and meets many different requirements, aesthetic or practical.

Pilkington Insulight™ Therm incorporates specialist glass products such as Pilkington K Glass™, Pilkington Optitherm™ S3 and Pilkington Suncool™ HP, to provide more effective thermal insulation, helping the windows meet Part L of The Building Regulations (England and Wales) and Part J (Scotland). Pilkington Insulight™ with Pellini Screenline® blinds is also available, offering a micro-Venetian blind integrated within the glass unit to allow adjustable sun shading and thermal insulation. When combined with Pilkington Optiwhite™, as the front pane of the insulating glass unit (IGU) known as Pilkington energiKare™, optimum performance can be obtained to meet the requirements of the Window Energy Rating (WER) for dwellings.
