Realistic stone-effect floor tiles from the Polyflor Kudos PU luxury vinyl tile collection have been used to help preserve the historic ambience of the 17th century Globe Inn, Dumfries, favourite haunt of poet Robert Burns.

“The Kudos tiles are an ideal replacement for the former timber floors – they look just like stone but are warm and quiet underfoot,” says The Globe Inn’s Maureen McKerrow. “This inn was established in 1610 and Burns was a regular guest in the late 18th century, so obviously we do all we can to maintain the right atmosphere for our visitors.”

Ideal for retail, leisure, office, education and specific healthcare installations, Kudos PU, installed at the inn by Castle Douglas-based flooring contractor Bruce Callander, provides a choice of 10 highly realistic stone and marble designs plus 10 brilliantly authentic timber effects. Polyflor also offers a bespoke service for design accessories and feature inlays.

The collection features a specially formulated polyurethane surface treatment to improve the soil resistance and cleanability of the floor, reducing maintenance costs by up to 24%.
