The Queen’s Medical Centre Campus' main staircase was fitted with XT stair edgings, which feature an extended insert to increase slip-resistance at the leading edge of the profile. Selected with Jet (black) inserts to contrast with the light oak vinyl flooring, the stair edgings also define the step edge in line with ADM guidelines.
Capping seals were also installed throughout the Centre’s corridors to provide a neat finish where the vinyl floorcovering has been continued up the wall to form a skirting.
In addition, PVC-u rubrails and high impact corner guards were installed on all corridor walls to prevent damage that can be caused by pedestrian and wheeled traffic. Selected in dark colours to contrast with the wall finish, the products complement the design scheme and highlight protruding corners in line with ADM and BS8300:2009+A1:2010 guidelines.
