Halmann’s brief was to design a terrazzo tile capable of taking over one million pairs of feet a day.

The tile, which has high granite content, is now installed at the Hong Kong railway terminus.

To comply with the wishes of the designers who wanted an open long-span design, the matching precast stair units were set into stainless steel frames.
