Heat pumps upgrade naturally-occurring low temperature heat into useful high temperature heat and vice versa to provide cooling (see diagram on illustrations page). Heat-pump technology is very flexible, with excellent energy efficiency and CO2 reduction potential.
Mitsubishi Electric uses heat pumps in its advanced air-conditioning units to maximise the heat and cooling potential of each system and minimise the energy consumption and therefore the CO2 emissions. Heat-pump technology offers a real potential for energy, and therefore CO2 reduction within buildings and especially within the home. This innovative, new technology offers the possibility of joining heat pumps to underfloor heating systems, domestic boilers and heated swimming pools to supplement the energy consumption of heating requirements of modern life.
