Mitsubishi Electrics water-cooled City Multi range is listed on the Governments renewable energy list. Tests at the companys Hatfield headquarters have proved that a WY linked to a ground slinky is over 300% more efficient at heating and cooling an office than a traditional gas-fired boiler and rooftop-chiller combination.
Available in heat pump and heat recovery with model sizes of 8, 10, 16 and 20HP, both the WR2 and the WY can be linked to ground loops and boreholes to use the geothermal energy of the earth like a battery to store heating and cooling energy. As the diagrams on the illustrations page show, the WR2 system can also link to a buildings water loop to transfer energy around a building, as well as transferring energy around its own refrigerant circuit to provide an extremely energy-efficient system.
The PWFY VRF heat-pump boiler points the way towards combined air conditioning and hot-water generation for a wide range of commercial applications. Available in either 12.5 or 25kW sizes, the unique booster unit can heat water up to 70șC.
